And she brought forth her first born Son and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for Him in the inn. Luke 2:14
The Savior of the world was born and there was no room for Him. My adorable little girl has been walking around our home singing "No room, no room, said the man in Bethlehem." It has really penetrated my heart this year. How many of us are leaving no room for our Savior. Our lives sometimes seem so full of just normal day to day activities that I have to tell myself to stop, and make the greatest space for Him, my Savior! These are prayers lifted up as I walk the halls of my school, blessings spoken over the lives of my precious students, travail for the Lord's heart and destiny in the lives of my family and friends, crying out for the lost, forgotten, abandoned, for orphans and widows and those in great need. Let us always keep Him, His heart, His ways, His destiny first, up front, in the most prominent part of our lives.
2009 has brought many changes and trials to our family. First the Lord had us resign from our children's ministry position, then a few months later He sent us out to a place we did not know, seeking His plan for our ministry. This was so tough for us. We laid our plans down and submitted to His will for our family. This took us out of our familiar and loving comfort zone and church. And then another 2 months later, my husband was laid off from a job he thought was secure. Well, you might say our world has been shaking. We believe 2010 has some exciting things in store for our family. We are holding on for the ride, trusting our Father and learning to take each new day one step at a time.
As we approach another new year, my prayers are for restoration and healing in the lives of my family and friends, for provision, peace and joy in 2010. And All because of such a great love!
