This spring has been very busy in a wonderful way. We went to Branson, Missouri during spring break for an awesome family time. Granny, Pawpaw and our cousins Linda, Robin and Lauren all joined us for lots of fun in the Ozark Mountains. We went to Silver Dollar City and enjoyed the rides, entertainment and food. It was so funny when we all went to the "Old Time" photo studio to do a Civil War times photo together. Catherine Grace loved the rides and got almost everyone to ride once with her. Andrew looked so gigantic sitting next to her on the pink caterpillar ride. We all boarded the train around the park at her insistence but she was not amused when train robbers quite comically stopped our train. I had to do a very quick explanation of acting/actors and pretend. Still she was not amused. But she absolutely loved the River Rapids ride even though she got soaking wet and begged to go again. Lauren and Jordan bravely rode the biggest roller coaster and lived to tell the story. Granny and Pawpaw were amazing as they walked around the park literally all day enjoying the sights and sounds.
We spent another day shopping in the quaint downtown area of Branson. The Old Time Five and Dime was lots of fun and we all loved the candy shop. We later spent a late evening playing games, laughing and generally enjoying our time together. Allen had everyone fill out an NCAA March Madness tournament bracket for some fun basketball competition. It was so funny to see Linda in a Kentucky hoodie while her husband wore a Kansas one - a little healthy rivalry. And OH, The SNOW! We drove home in a snowstorm. We have seen snow several times this year and for us that is unusual. It was such a wonderful trip!
The picture of Catherine Grace with the snowball was one that Jordan took. He entered it and some others in a 4-H photo contest and did very well, placing with this one and another.
We joyfully celebrated the great love of our Savior on Resurrection Sunday. Catherine Grace enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt with her sweet friends. It was such a beautiful day. "Amazing love how can it be that you my King would die for me?" Thank you Jesus!
As I sit here typing in a hotel room it Tyler, Texas, my husband and I are preparing for an adoption/orphan awareness event - Hope for 100. We are Associates for our adoption agency and will be sharing information and our testimony. We are praying that many will feel the heart of our Father for His precious children and be moved to action. Many recent events have brought negative attention to international adoption, but the orphans (millions all over the world) still cry out for loving families.
