She's a pink poodle!

Tonight we went to our church fall festival and my pink poodle had a great time! Jordan took Peanut with him and dressed her up as a cow and he went as a farmer. They had so much fun playing games, getting their faces painted, getting candy, and watching "Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin." It has been a fun week. Catherine Grace also got to be a pink poodle this week at school. The children all dressed up. They were very excited! It was an interesting day for the teachers as well as the students. I'm not sure we got much teaching accomplished, but the children loved it. Honestly it is such a blessing to see them having that much fun. God has blessed us with a wonderful school and beautiful families who love the Lord. Children are a special blessing from the Lord!

Also tonight was Andrew's homecoming. It seems that these exciting events all fall on the same evening. Hmmmm! Before I went to the fall festival, I went to take these beautiful pictures of my son and his girlfriend. How beautiful! Blessed again!

Count the precious blessings in your life. Whether they are your own, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, students, church family children, or neighbors, we all have an opportunity to bless them, pray for them, love them, and be an example of Christlikeness to them. Take a minute and pray for a child, that they grow to be an adult who will make a difference in this world and live for Christ.

Counting my Blessings,
Danise

Jordan's 14 birthday!

His gift: Introducing Peanut!

Catherine's 5th Birthday

Catherine Grace is now five! She had such a wonderful birthday with many of her friends from church and school helping her celebrate. This year was all about pink poodles. It took her a while to pick but when she decided on the pink poodles she was sure! Even her fall festival costume is a pink poodle. She loves dogs and pink, so it all makes sense. God has blessed us with a joyful and energetic little girl. She loves life!

Stitches came out and we are on the mend!

My sweet girl got her stitches out yesterday. It was such a long day. We had to go back to the hospital (5 am yuck!) and they put her back to sleep to take them out. She did very well and it is healing so beautifully. My prayer is that we don't have to do this again. Now that the stitches are gone she is flashing that beautiful smile. It softens any hard heart.

We got back from the hospital just in time to see Jordan off to camp. He is so excited. He loves our church youth group. Things seem to be just a little quieter around here. Hmmmmmm?

Later in the afternoon, we took Mamaw (Allen's mother is living with us now) to the doctor also. We have had enough of doctor's offices lately. Adam has just recovered from mono! Thankfully no one else caught it. Busy day - Busy summer!

God is good and I am thankful for His grace and strength to handle all that comes my way. I am running to finish this race!

Thankful for His mercy,
Danise

Second Cleft surgery

Today Catherine Grace had her second cleft surgery. She was so very brave and came through well. Her Granny and Pawpaw sent her an after surgery treat (which she picked out). It came in a big box and she was ready to leave the hospital to open the big box. She was thrilled to see a "Little Helpers Cleaning Cart." I told her she was the only person I know who wants to clean house after surgery.

Time for healing,
Danise
